The Convention Palace stands tall and proud, overlooking Solomon's Pools in a small valley amidst the pine trees south of Bethlehem. The Pools consist of three rectangular-shaped, massive stone tanks that hold up to approximately 160,000 cubic meters of water. It is believed to date back to the time of King Herod and was named after Suleiman Al-Qanuni, who ruled from 1520-1566 AD. Rainwater and springs were collected in these pools and were then transported through channels to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The facility is not only one of Palestine's most distinctive facilities for meetings, events, and cultural and heritage evenings but it is also considered the best. It features all the necessary service facilities, designed according to the highest international standards, making it capable of hosting major international activities.
